I pray for love!

DSCF6059AWhen I look down my street it looks exactly the same as it looked before the attacks on Friday…

But it’s not the same, because whichever way you turn it the people in it have forever changed…

That may sound dramatic coming from someone who has not lost a loved one in the attack. Or at least not as far as I know (so far).

I had a friend go to a restaurant last night because she decided not to let fear get the best of her. The restaurant was closed, the owners died in the attack.

And that is our reality for now…

Wherever we go, or whomever we meet next, there will be stories of loss. There will be grieve. And from grieves comes anger…

Anger that will turn into hatred. I’ve seen it after the attacks in January. I fear for the safety of my Muslim friends and neighbors.

But fear cannot be what leads us. I pray (and you may have your opinion about that) that there’s still enough love to go around to make this world a better place!

I’m going to stick to the words of a very wise man: Darkness cannot drive out darkness; only light can do that. Hate cannot drive out hate; only love can do that. ~Martin Luther King, Jr.
