It’s a hot day in Paris when I drag my deck chair across the street from where I live. I enter my neighborhood supermarket and unfold the chair in the middle of the meat aisle. It’s the coolest spot in the shop after all.
As I sit down one of the employees comes up to me. There’s a puzzled look on his face when he addresses me. “Madame…”
He recognizes me as I smile at him and decides to say no more.
I put on my straw hat and get my camera out. I’m ready for this…

Of course I’m not really sitting in the supermarket. I wish though. I was there earlier today and it was nice and cool.
That’s when I got this silly idea and I couldn’t help but chuckle.
What I’m trying to tell you is that when you want to do or be something in life, even if you cannot do or be it just yet, you can start by imagining it to already be true.
That’s why I dare call myself a writer and a photographer. It’s what I imagine being. I’m acting on my desires. I’m working on becoming the me I imagine being every single day.
Mind you, it’s not a given that I’ll succeed — not at all even. But imagining it being so is half the battle, and tons of fun…
If you can imagine it, you can achieve it. If you can dream it, you can become it. – William Arthur Ward
